San Miguel Beer center June Mar Fajardo was named the Best Player of the Conference for the fourth time in his career before the tip off of Game Four of the PBA Philippine Cup finals on Sunday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
The 6-foot-10 slotman was the runaway winner after lording over the statistical tally and the votes by the media, players, and the Philippine Basketball Association. He averaged 26 points, 14.8 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks to lead the Beermen to the finals.
Barangay Ginebra's Greg Slaughter came in second, while NLEX center Asi Taulava, forward Sean Anthony, and Barako Bull's Willie Wilson completed the top five candidates.
The trophy was Fajardo's third straight BPC award in the All-Filipino conference after also bagging the individual honor the past two seasons.
Last season, he won two out of three BPC awards as he was also hailed BPC in the season-ending Governors' Cup before capping the year with his second Most Valuable Player title.
With four BPC citations, Fajardo is only second to mentor Danny Ildefonso for most BPC awards with five.
