The Adamson Soaring Falcons named PBA legend Kenneth Duremdes as their new seniors division basketball head coach, formalizing the end of their six-season relationship with mentor Leo Austria.
The news was confirmed to GMA News Online by team manager Gilbert Cruz.
Duremdes actually played for Adamson back in the 90's, before moving on to a decorated PBA career that included 10 All-Star nods and being named to the PBA's 25 Greatest Players list. He'll officially take over at the start of November, moving up from his current position of assistant, bringing with him Marlou Aquino, another Adamson great, and Vince Hizon to form his staff.
Adamson had moved swiftly to find a replacement for Austria after he announced earlier this month that he would not renew his contract beyond the current UAAP season. Austria led Adamson to their first-ever Final Four berth in 2006, and twice more in 2010 and 2011.
