FTW: What has Talk 'N Text done to go up 3-0?
"I don't think any professional analyst would have predicted a 3-0 [lead for Talk 'N Text]," said Barako Bull power forward Doug Kramer, as the FTW crew gathered together to analyze how exactly the Tropang Texters got such a commanding lead over the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, in their best-of-seven Philippine Cup Finals series.
Before the ball was tipped, many figured it to be an excellent pairing of the two deepest teams in the league, one that would likely go long. Instead, TNT could pull off a sweep with a win on Wednesday, and hoist the Perpetual Trophy early.
"Rain or Shine is putting up a good fight, but Talk 'N Text is just proving too much, they seem like a better version of Rain or Shine right now," Kramer added.
San Mig Coffee Mixers assistant Richard Del Rosario pointed out, "Ang napapansin ko lang sa Talk 'N Text, they hardly show any emotion.
"I think Rain or Shine is still being physical, kaya lang, hindi apektado ang Talk 'N Text. Hindi sila naiinis. Even after a good shot or a win, they don't celebrate. Na-separate nila ang focus on winning the series from the other stuff."
Charles Tiu, assistant coach with Barako Bull, said, "They play great team defense. It's not just one defender they have to go through, they have to go through a lot of defenders. And everyone knows when to help and how to rotate."
Still, the FTW team doesn't quite see a sweep happening, with some of them predicting that Rain or Shine might be able to pull out a win or two, and leave with their heads held high.
