PSE Futsal Cup kicks off on July 23

The 2nd Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) Futsal Cup kicks off its 2011 season on July 23 with six teams vying for the title at the Club650 Sports Center in Libis, Quezon City. FIFA Futsal Laws of the Game will be applied. Corinthian Football Club director Aldrich Garcia is the tournament director of the PSE Futsal Cup. The PSE has formed two teams that will compete against port operator ICTSI, energy firm Petron Corp., brokerage firm ATR KimEng Securities Inc. and media network ABS-CBN. The games will be quick. Each half will run for only 10 minutes. Starting line-ups will have a minimum of five players. The minimum number of players to finish was set at three and maximum number of substitutes is seven. PSE President Hans Sicat said brokerage and listed firms may field foreign players as long as they are bonafide employees. Each competing team is also allowed two guest players who are not employees. Barred from playing in the PSE Futsal Cup are football and futsal players in the national team, the University Athletic Association of the Philippines, National Collegiate Athletic Association, United Football League (UFL). Also excluded are former UFL and national team players below 45 years old and players who competed in the NCAA and UAAP in the last five years. – Earl Rosero/JVP, GMA News
