Perimeter gunner Chan signs 2-year pact with Red Bull
MANILA, Philippines â Former RP National and ex-Far Eastern University player Jeff Chan became the latest member of Batch 2008 to sign a Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) contract after he inked a two-year deal with Red Bull late Friday. Terms of the contract were not available. Chan, a member of the RP menâs basketball team that won the gold in the 2007 Southeast Asian Games in Thailand, was selected no. 17 overall by the Photokina franchise in last weekâs Annual PBA Draft. Draftees who signed contracts with their respective mother teams include Gabe Norwood, Solomon Mercado and TY Tang of Rain or Shine. Jason Castro and Rob Reyes (Talk âN Text), Beau Belga and Jonathan Fernandez, Bonbon Custodio (Magnolia), Larry Rodriguez (Red Bull) and Mark Borboran and Cholo Villanueva (Air21) have yet to be signed, but it has been reported that all of them have received offers from the ballclubs which drafted them. All rookies selected during the draft are given five days to at least receive a contract offer from their teams. Failure to do so automatically relegates the players to the free-agent market. â GMANews.TV
