Eman Bacosa escapes with decision; Arvin Magramo grabs WBC title

Rising star Eman Bacosa was put to the test before he came out with a disputable unanimous decision nod over Arnaud Makita at Blow by Blow on Thursday at Okada Manila in Parañaque.
Bacosa, 21, was on the receiving end of Makita's punches to the head and body and had a hard time finding his groove all night. Bacosa had his moments but were far and few in between.
In the end, all three judges saw the fight in favor of Bacosa, improving his professional boxing record to 6-0-1 with 4 knockouts.
In the main event, Arvin Magramo copped the WBC international light flyweight title following a unanimous decision victory over ex-IBF world minimumweight champion Rene Mark Cuarto.
Both fighters lived up to their reputation as hard-hitting brawlers as they went toe-to-toe the whole night. In round 5, Magramo scored two crucial knockdowns but was unable to put away his foe.
The three judges all scored in favor of Magramo, improving his record to 19-2-1 with 11 knockouts while Cuarto dropped to 23-8-2 with 13 knockouts.
