Naoya Inoue beats TJ Doheny via TKO

Naoya Inoue made a successful defense of his WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBF world super bantamweight titles following a technical knockout over TJ Doheny this Tuesday evening at Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.

Both fighters gauged each other in the early going. In round two, Inoue upped the pace by throwing hard punches that hardly bothered Doheny. It was Doheny's turn to throw some big shots in the next stanza, throwing combinations to the head and body.

Both fighters unleashed hard punches of their own, but it was Inoue who landed cleaner through round 6. Inoue was on the attack the next round, and while Doheny did not look hurt, he waved the flag seemingly pointing to have injured his back.

It was Inoue's second successful defense of his undisputed super bantamweight championship, improving his perfect record to 28-0 with 25 knockouts.
