Dave Apolinario in excellent shape ahead of first world title fight

Unbeaten Filipino boxer Dave Apolinario looks in tip-top shape ahead of his vacant IBF world flyweight title bout against Angel Ayala on August 9 in Mexico.

Apolinario, 20-0 with 14 knockouts, hit the pads for eight rounds before doing the heavy bag and speedball at ELITE Boxing & Muay Thai in Quezon City.

Both Apolinario and his trainer Ronerex Dalut noted that the Filipino pug is well on track to make the 112-pound limit for the upcoming world title fight.

Apolinario, who won eight of his last nine fights via stoppage, previously held the IBO flyweight title when he knocked out Gideon Buthelezi in one round.
