Carlo Paalam falls short against Aussie foe in Olympic boxing quarterfinals

Carlo Paalam fell short of the medal rounds after a 3-2 split decision defeat to Australian Charlie Senior on Saturday in the men's 57kg quarterfinals of the 2024 Paris Olympics boxing event.

Qualifying for the semifinals would have assured the winner of at least a bronze medal.

Paalam previously claimed a silver medal in the Tokyo Olympics three years ago. 

Prior to this, Paalam defeated Irish boxer Jude Gallagher in the Round of 16.
