Nesthy Petecio celebrates win vs French boxer to book quarterfinals slot in Olympics

Nesthy Petecio won against French boxer Amina Zidani in front of the hometown crowd on early Saturday (Philippine time) at the North Paris Arena.

Petecio won via points, 30-27, 28-29, 29-28, 29-28, 29-28, to book a slot in the quarterfinals of the women's boxing 57kg event.

With the first round taken by Zidani and the second round won by Petecio, the third round was a decisive and close one for both boxers.

As the final decision was announced, Petecio was just ecstatic as she shouted for joy, while Zidani was left surprised with the announcement.
