Vincent Astrolabio, Junto Nakatani make weight for world title bout

Filipino contender Vincent Astrolabio and defending WBC world bantamweight champion Junto Nakatani successfully made weight for their fight on Saturday, July 20, at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan.

Astrolabio, 19-4 with 14 knockouts, came in at 117.26 pounds while his opponent, the unbeaten three-division champion Nakatani came in at ready 117.04 pounds to make the world championship fight official.

A former world title challenger, Astrolabio earned another crack at gold after he defeated Navapon Khaikanha by way of technical knockout last August in hostile territory. Nakatani, meanwhile, defends his bantamweight title for the first time after winning it last February.
