Manny Pacquiao to 'teach' Japanese foe boxing lesson in exhibition match
Manny Pacquiao plans to 'teach' Chihiro Suzuki what boxing is all about when they meet atop the ring on July 28 at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan.
Pacquiao, 45, will figure in an exhibition match against the kickboxer and mixed martial artist Suzuki and says he would give the latter a boxing lesson.
"They think boxing is easier than MMA [but] boxing is harder than MMA because it is more exhausting," Pacquiao said in Filipino at a press conference held in Manila on Tuesday.
"My opponent has no boxing experience that is why I want to teach him what boxing is. We are fighting boxing so he is going to learn."
The only prizefighter in history to win championships across eight weight classes, Pacquiao called it quits after he lost to Yordenis Ugas via decision in 2021.
Though retired, Pacquiao made another ring appearance a year later in an exhibition against DK Yoo in South Korea.
