Vincent Astrolabio to face Junto Nakatani for WBC world title

One-time world title challenger Vincent Astrolabio will get another crack at gold when he takes on WBC world bantamweight champion Junto Nakatani on July 20 at Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.

Astrolabio, 19-4 with 14 knockouts as a professional boxer, is the no.1 rated bantamweight in the world by the WBC and is the mandatory challenger to Nakatani's world title. His upcoming fight will be his first outing this year.

"We are always ready and we are training. We are not going to waste this opportunity. We hope to win this fight for Filipinos," Astrolabio's head coach Nonoy Neri told GMA News Online.

Nakatani, meanwhile, is perfect in his campaign as a boxer, holding a flawless record of  27-0 with 20 knockouts. A three-division world champion, Nakatani won the WBC world bantamweight title with a stoppage over Alexandro Santiago last February.
