Boxer Tagalog still in ICU after surgery on Wednesday
Amateur boxer Anselmo Tagalog Jr.'s condition is still being closely watched in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Davao City.
According to the report on "24 Oras" by Rgil Relator of GMA Regional TV One Mindanao, the boxer had surgery on Wednesday after midnight.
His mother Gina dela Cruz said the boxer already moved his hands and feet.
He could also open and close his eyes.
She said she was told by the doctor that her son would pull through.
Dela Cruz called on the Bansalan local government and the fight organizer to help her son.
GMA Regional TV One Mindanao repeatedly sought comment from the amateur boxing association in Bansalan but it has yet to reply.
Comment was also sought from Bansalan Mayor Edwin Reyes but he is said to be on leave.
Tagalog was hospitalized after he slipped into a coma a few hours after engaging in his first bout and lost.
He was rushed to the hospital wherein it was discovered that he had a blot clot in his brain. —NB, GMA Integrated News
