Carl Jammes Martin decisions Duge, says foe was as tough as expected

Carl Jammes Martin added another win to his unbeaten record following a dominant ten-round unanimous decision win over Tanzania’s Oscar Duge last Saturday at the Elorde Ballroom in Sucat, Paranaque.

The 24-year-old super bantamweight prospect threw every punch in the book to penetrate Duge’s tight guard. He dictated the tempo throughout the contest while his foe looked to land an overhand right all night.

Though Martin did not get the knockout that he was hoping for, he nevertheless scored a clear-cut unanimous decision victory after ten rounds of action to improve his record to 22-0 with 17 knockouts. The scorecards were 99-91, 99-91, and 98-92.

“I have no excuses, I did everything I can atop the ring. I was expecting him to be tough because from what I watched he is really tough. I did everything; power and speed. Everything was there,” Martin said after the fight.

The ten-round contest was Martin’s first bout this year having suffered a rib injury last April.
