Terence Crawford annihilates Errol Spence Jr to become undisputed welterweight champ

Three-division champion Terence Crawford became the first two-division undisputed champion in boxing's four-belt era after dropping Errol Spence Jr. thrice en route to a ninth-round technical knockout this Sunday (Philippine time) at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Crawford, 40-0 with 31 knockouts, now holds the WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBF world welterweight titles.

Both boxers came out jabbing to start the contest with Crawford, a switch hitter, fighting left-handed.

As anticipated, Spence played the aggressor while Crawford looked to land countershots. The opening came in round two, as Crawford landed a left straight followed by a jab that sent Spence to the canvas.

Spence came out swinging in round three clobbering Crawford with hard punches to the head and body. Crawford stayed calm, circling the ring looking to land more clean counterpunches.

Crawford landed several clean hard shots in round 4 that hurt Spence. In round 7, another knockdown was scored when Crawford caught Spence with a counter right before scoring another knockdown with the same punch before the round ended.

With Spence bloodied and beaten up, Crawford landed a barrage of punches that prompted the referee to halt the contest at the 2:32 mark of round nine.
