Donaire vs Santiago postponed, moved to Errol Spence vs Terence Crawford undercard
The upcoming world title showdown between former four-division champion Nonito Donaire Jr. and Alexandro Santiago has been moved to the undercard of Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford on July 29 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The pair was originally scheduled to lock horns for the vacant WBC world bantamweight title this weekend in the co-main event Frank Martin vs. Artem Harutyunyan but was moved to the pay-per-view event, a development which was first reported by Boxing Scene.
Donaire, who holds a record of 42-7 with 28 knockouts, is on the cusp of beating his own record of being the oldest bantamweight world champion in boxing history should he beat Santiago at 40 years old.
Santiago, meanwhile, is 27-3-5 with 14 knockouts as a boxer. Known to Filipino fight fans for getting a draw against the then super flyweight champion Jerwin Ancajas in 2018, Santiago is coming off a busy 2022 having won all three of his fights last year.
