IN PHOTOS | Marlon Tapales world title fight vs Murodjon Akhmadaliev

Filipino Marlon Tapales became the WBA and IBF world super bantamweight champion following an upset win against Murodjon Akhmadaliev via split decision Sunday at the Boeing Center at Tech Port in San Antonio, Texas.

Tapales, who won 115-113, 115-113, 110-118 on the scorecards, improved to 37-3 with 19 knockouts as a professional boxer while Akhmadaliev is now 11-1.
