IBF orders purse bid for Fernando Martinez vs. Jade Bornea

The International Boxing Federation has ordered a purse bid on January 17 for the mandatory title fight between IBF world super flyweight champion Fernando Martinez and Jade Bornea, Boxingscene.com reported.

Bornea, who holds a perfect professional boxing record of 18-0 with 12 knockouts, is the number one contender for Martinez's world title.

The sanctioning body ordered negotiations to begin last year but no agreement has been made thus the purse bid.

Martinez, meanwhile, is an Argentinian Olympian with a perfect record of 15-0 with eight knockouts.

He won the IBF world super flyweight title when he pulled off a unanimous decision upset over Jerwin Ancajas in February last year then successfully defended the strap eight months later.
