Dmitry Bivol makes successful defense of light heavyweight title over Ramirez

WBA world light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol made another successful defense of his title following a unanimous decision nod over the previously unbeaten Gilberto Ramirez this Sunday at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.

Bivol was calculated in the early goings as he seemingly gauged what his Mexican had to offer. The champion relied on his patented one-two, keeping Ramirez at bay whenever he lands down the pipe.

Though Ramirez kept coming throughout the fight, he was never able to put Bivol in real danger. He was unable to solve his opponent’s jab and was hurt himself a few times from Bivol's right straight.

All three judges saw the fight for Bivol after twelve rounds of action. The scorecards were 118-110, 117-111, and 117-111 with Bivol improving his unblemished record to 21-0 with 11 knockouts while Ramirez dropped to 44-0 with 30 knockouts.
