Devin Haney remains undisputed lightweight champ with lopsided win over Kambosos
Undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney made a successful defense of his WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBF world lightweight titles following a lopsided unanimous decision nod in his rematch with George Kambosos Jr. this Sunday at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia.
Kambosos was aggressive in the early going, switching stances and going to the head and body while Haney tried to read what the former brought to the table before landing clean shots as he pressed forward in round two.
By round three, Haney seemingly had Kambosos’ unorthodox approach figured out as the former repeatedly landed his patented right straight. Kambosos, for his part, was not as active as he was in the first round rarely throwing punches.

Everything looked lost for Kambosos as early as round 7 as Haney's boxing remained a puzzle he cannot solve. The bloodied local favorite did not land a clean shot either until a couple of rounds after.
Haney was throwing at will in round 10, seemingly trying to end the contest by knockout. Kambosos, to his credit, recovered from the punishment quickly and fought with urgency in rounds 11 and 12.
All three judges saw the fight for Haney after twelve rounds, improving his perfect record to 29-0 with 15 knockouts while Kambosos dropped 20-2 with 10 knockouts. The scorecards were 119-109, 118-110 and 118-110.
