The 27-year-old Magsayo started to train at Roach’s Wild Card Gym in California when he arrived on the US boxing scene two years ago.

It was also under Roach’s tutelage that Magsayo became a world champion when he defeated Gary Russell Jr. via majority decision this past January.

“I am excited to train and excited for my new head coach,” Magsayo announced on his vlog.

While the fighter did not announce his new team, he was seen on the video training with renowned Filipino boxing coach Marvin Somodio at Brickhouse Boxing Club.

Magsayo, 24-1 with 16 knockouts as a professional boxer, is coming off a failed title defense against Rey Vargas last July.
