The rematch between Filipino Jerwin Ancajas and IBF world super flyweight champion Fernando Martinez is scheduled to take place on October 8 in Los Angeles, according to a report by ESPN.

Ancajas, the former IBF world super flyweight champion, lost his world title to the Argentinian Olympian last February by way of unanimous decision.

Following the loss, Team Ancajas contemplated if it was time for the prizefighter to move up in weight but ultimately decided to tap their rematch clause against Martinez.

Ancajas, 33-2-2 with 22 knockouts, made nine successful title defenses before losing the strap to Martinez, who holds an unbeaten record of 14-0 with 8 knockouts.
