Jimuel Pacquiao admits feeling pressure as Manny's son but keeps focus on boxing career

Jimuel Pacquiao is making his own name recently in amateur boxing.

The son of an eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao already won three fights and is continuing his training in the United States.

But does he feel any pressure from being the son of boxing icon?

"There's always pressure, I'm a junior," said Jimuel, whose real name is Emmanuel Pacquiao, Jr.

"There's been juniors also in boxing before, like Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. But then, I guess it's just the comparing part, you know, people tend to compare a lot," he said in an episode of "Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel."

Jimuel said his coaches encourage him to just focus on carving his own path.

"My coaches tell me to just focus on being you and 'You're your own man, you have your own style.' So [I] just block all the negativity out and just focus," he said.

In making his own name and style, Jimuel also said he emulated his dad in some skills while he also gets inspiration from other boxers.

"From him, he had the best footwork, and hand speed. So I try to get that from him. And also the work ethic," Jimuel said, referring to his dad.

"Like from other fighters, too. I try to get bits and pieces and see what works best for me. So that's how I, you know, try to learn."
