Gervonta Davis stops Rolly Romero with a perfect counter in Round 6
Gervonta Davis made a successful defense of his WBA interim lightweight title following a sixth-round stoppage over Rolly Romero this Sunday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Romero started the contest with jabs while Davis circled the ring throwing left straights to the body. Romero was aggressive in round two, throwing hard combinations that gave him a confidence boost before eating a hard left from Davis that snapped his head back.

Romero was the aggressor in round 4. Each time he opened up, Davis countered with a hard left hand that stopped the challenger in his tracks. In round 6, Romero pinned Davis to the ropes only to eat a monster left that dropped him
Romero was able to get back to his feet but was visually shaken and hurt which prompted the referee to halt the contest at the 2:39 mark of the round.
The win improved Davis’ perfect record to 27-0 with 25 knockouts while Romero tasted his first defeat and dropped to 14-1 with 12 KOs.
