Analyst predicts 'systematic breakdown' in Jerwin Ancajas' tenth title defense
Veteran boxing analyst Atty. Ed Tolentino predicts a systematic breakdown when reigning IBF world super flyweight champion Jerwin Ancajas defends his title against Fernando Daniel Martinez this Sunday, February 27 at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, USA.
“The way I see it this is going to be a systematic breakdown win from Ancajas. I see a knockout within seven rounds. He will figure this guy out, this is the style in which he would want to showcase his genius as a fighter. He is going to break this guy open,” Tolentino said.
Ancajas (33-1-2, 22KOs) has held the world title since winning it over McJoe Arroyo via unanimous decision in 2016. He is about to stake the title again for the tenth time against an unbeaten opponent and former Olympian, but Tolentino is confident of victory for the Filipino pug.
“If Ancajas makes the mistake of staying in the pocket too long he can get caught with Martinez's overhand right. But as I said before, Ancajas has survived harder punches in the past and survived. In fact, he also got caught in his last fight so he has to avoid the pocket.”
