Pacquiao all praises for Ugas after thrilling bout: 'That's boxing'

After trading punches in the ring, Manny Pacquiao was the first to send out praises for his Cuban foe Yordenis Ugas after the latter defended his WBA welterweight title on Sunday (Manila time).

The Filipino fighter lost via a unanimous decision as all three judges were in favor of the 35-year-old Ugas after 12 rounds of thrilling match at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, United States of America.

Despite the loss, Pacquiao remained gracious in defeat.

"I congratulate my opponent Yordenis Ugas for making [a] tough [fight] tonight and winning tonight. That's boxing," the fighting senator said in the post-match interview.

With this defeat, Pacquiao will now banner a 62-8-2 win-loss-draw card where 39 of his victories came from via knockout.

Pacquiao also admitted that he had a tough time making adjustments on the ring that led to the loss.

"I’m having a hard time making adjustments about my body style and I think that’s the problem for me, I didn't make adjustments right away. My legs are so tight that’s why it’s hard to move," he explained.

Still, the Sarangani native thanked everyone who came to watch the bout live  and those who cheered on him against Ugas.

"Well, I'm so thankful to the fans coming here to witness the fight live. I really appreciate your effort to come here. I’m sorry that we lost tonight but I did my best. I apologize."
