Irish Magno congratulates teammate Nesthy Petecio after historic silver for women's boxing

After Nesthy Petecio's silver medal win on Tuesday, Irish Magno congratulated her fellow Filipina boxer for the historic feat.

On Facebook, Magno posted a photo of them together while posing with Petecio's Olympic medal.

"Our Olympian and First Silver Medalist in the Women's Boxing Team, Tokyo 2020 Olympics," she said.

Petecio made history on Tuesday after being the first Filipina boxer to win a medal at the Olympics.

Magno herself also made history in this year's Olympics as she became the first Filipina boxer to qualify for the Summer Games.

However, Magno bowed out of the competition at the Round of 16 after falling short against Jutamas Jitpong of Thailand in the women's flyweight event.
