Nesthy Petecio advances to quarterfinals of Olympic boxing tourney

Nesthy Petecio is through to the quarterfinals.

The Filipina boxer pulled a huge upset over Chinese Taipei's Lin Yu-Ting in the Round of 16 of the women's featherweight division of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics boxing tournament Monday.

She won via a split decision, 3-2, to move forward in the Summer Games.

She will next battle the winner between the bout of Stanimira Petrova of Bulgaria and Yeni Arias of Colombia.

In the Round of 32 last Saturday, the Pinay pug outhustled Democratic Republic of Congo's Sakobi Matshu Marcelat via a unanimous decision.
