Manny Pacquiao does light workout after first day of sparring
Members of Team Pacquiao had to stop Manny Pacquiao from overworking himself on day five of training camp at the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles, USA.
The 42-year-old Pacquiao did his first sparring session yesterday in preparation for his showdown with WBC and IBF world welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. on August 21 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
“Manny knows it’s a tough fight – probably his toughest – but that’s why he began his conditioning so early in the Philippines,” said Pacquiao’s Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach.
“Manny lives for the challenge and the competition. Manny loves hearing that the Las Vegas odds and the media favor Errol Spence.”
Seen by oddsmakers as the underdog heading into the fight, the numbers suggesting that Pacquiao would lose to Spence has since dwindled down since he arrived in LA earlier this week.
