Mayweather says it's sad Pacquiao still has to fight at his age
Shortly after his exhibition fight against YouTuber Logan Paul, Floyd Mayweather Jr. had something to say about his old foe Manny Pacquiao.
In the post-fight press conference, the 44-year-old American commented on Pacman still fighting professional bouts at 42 years old.
The eight-division champion is slated to challenge WBC and IBF world welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. on August 21 in a yet-to-be-announced venue.
"When I come and do an exhibition, come out boxing have some fun, I do it because I wanna do it not 'cause I have to do it," Mayweather said.
"Whereas, Pacquiao at his age, which is sad that he has to fight. I'm financially set and I want everybody to know this," he added.
The brash American said that he is set for life thanks to his properties and investments.
"I'm well off. Every property that I have is paid for, my jet is paid for, and all my cars are paid for," he said.
Meanwhile, the Filipino legend has a net worth of P3.17 billion as of his 2019 Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net worth (SALN). He is the second richest senator in the Philippines.
Pacquiao and Mayweather squared off in 2015 in a match billed as "Fight of the Century." The American won via unanimous decision.
