Gerry Peñalosa breaks down Pacquiao vs. Spence, predicts Manny will win by KO

Retired two-division champion Gerry Peñalosa is confident that Manny Pacquiao will emerge victorious when he challenges the unbeaten WBC and IBF world welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr.

In an interview with GMA News Online, Peñalosa said that he has been following Spence's career for quite some time now.

He recognized the American's brilliant performance against Kell Brook in 2017, where he won via technical knockout in the 11th round.

"He impressed me when he fought Kell Brook but after that, I told myself Manny can beat him. For sure this is going to be a good fight, a hard fight for both," Peñalosa said in Filipino.

"Spence will attack right after the first bell because he may think that Manny is smaller and has been inactive, but once he feels his power everything will change. Little by little Manny would pick him apart," he added.

Peñalosa predicted that Pacquiao will win via knockout.

"Spence will bully,  he tries to intimidate his foes but that would not work against Manny. He has experienced that and fought many good opponents compared to him. In the later rounds he will feel the punches. Either the referee stops the fight or his corner does," he said.

Pacquiao, 42, last fought on the boxing ring against American boxer Keith Thurman in 2019. The eight-division world champion won the bout and bagged the WBA super welterweight title.

He and Spence will square up against each other in Las Vegas, USA on August 21.
