Saunders suffered multiple fractures in Canelo fight, says Hearn

Former WBO world super middleweight world champion Billy Joe Saunders suffered multiple orbital bone fractures in his fight against pound-for-pound king Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, his promoter Eddie Hearn said.
Saunders, 31, did not come out of his corner before the start of round 9 which earned the Mexican superstar an eighth-round technical knockout win. Alvarez's victory unified the WBC, WBA, and WBO world titles at 168 pounds.
"Just at the hospital in Dallas, Billy Joe Saunders stayed in overnight. Suffered multiple fractures to the orbital area and will undergo surgery this afternoon," Hearn wrote on Twitter.
