Floyd Mayweather explains why he is the greatest of all time

Retired five-division champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. has reiterated that he is the greatest of all time in the sport of boxing.

In an interview with Club Shay Shay, the brash American compared himself to Hall of Famers then enumerated why he thinks he is better than all of them.

“Out of all these guys in the history of boxing, I've accomplished more than any fighter in the history of boxing,” said Mayweather.

“How many world champions have Rocky Marciano beat? So we already know, I've beat more champions that's going in the Hall of Fame than he beat in his career period. So we're going to X him off. So he's 49-0 and I'm 50-0.”

Mayweather, 43, last fought in 2017 against former UFC featherweight and lightweight world champion Conor McGregor where he won by way of tenth-round technical knockout. He ended his career with a perfect record of 50-0 with 27 knockouts.

“We're talking about accomplishments. Is Ali the same fighter that got beat by a fighter with seven fights? Leon Spinks beat Muhammad Ali when he only had seven fights,” he stated.

“If we really tell the truth, Ken Norton really beat Ali all three times. Go back and look at the fights. We're just telling the truth and I love Ali. Sugar Ray Robinson? He had 200 fights? And I still beat more world champions than him.”

Asked why he does not get the credit he deserves despite his self-belief that he is the best ever, Mayweather simply answered, “Jealousy. I speak my mind.” -- BAP, GMA News
