Floyd Mayweather tells how much it would cost to make him fight again, open to McGregor rematch

Retired five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. is ready to jump back inside the ring if the price is right.

Amid recent news about Manny Pacquiao duking it out with mixed martial arts superstar Conor McGregor, the brash American stated that he is willing to give the Irish superstar a rematch for a nine-figure payday.

“If I can pick an easy $300 million absolutely. Same way same results,” said Mayweather in an interview with Club Shay Shay podcast.

“[$150 million is] not enough, absolutely not. My health is more important. Conor McGregor can’t punch, he can’t punch.”

Mayweather last saw action inside the ring against the former UFC featherweight and lightweight world champion McGregor in August 2017 where he triumphed by way of 10th-round technical knockout. He retired with a perfect record of 50-0 with 27 knockouts.

“I’m having fun I was like this dude punches so soft it’s cool. You know why I remember that? Because I ain’t take no punches and I still got all my faculties,” he remembered.

“That was so great about my career. So why would I go out there and fight these young fighters, these young lions to risk my health,” Mayweather added.

“Your health is your wealth. As far as me going out there competing against a guy like Conor McGregor. Absolutely. Those are $300 million fights. See, you have to make it make sense. Real sense.”

As far as Mayweather is concerned, his time in the spotlight is over though he insinuated that he is willing to fight with easy opponents for the sake of entertainment.

“It’s called eras for a reason. I had my time, I had my day. It’s these young fighters’ era now. But it’s okay for me to go fight a Khabib [Nurmagomedov] or a Conor and pick up $600 million so that don’t hurt. To fight guys just to entertain.” – JM Siasat/RC, GMA News
