Mike Tyson plans to keep fighting after exhibition bout with Roy Jones
Mike Tyson is yet to feel what it is like to trade blows inside the ring at 54 years old, but he is already planning to fight some more after his comeback bout.
The former heavyweight world champion is set to duke it out with his fellow legend Roy Jones Jr. in an eight-round exhibition on November 29 (PHL time) in California.
“I believe this is just going to be the beginning, and whatever happens, happens in life,” said Tyson in an interview with The Sun.
Tyson last saw action inside the ring in 2005 against Irish journeyman Kevin McBride, where he lost via sixth-round technical knockout.
His upcoming fight with Jones is reported to have a price tag of $49.99 on pay-per-view, which is set to air on the Triller app.
While his purse remains undisclosed to this day, Tyson said in a previous interview that he is planning to give it all to charity and will continue to do so for his next fights.
“I’m just interested in fighting for the title of giving,” he said. “It feels soul-cleaning for some reason. Doing it for myself doesn’t do it for me no more.” —MGP, GMA News
