Malcolm Tuñacao, former boxing world champ, now a garbage collector in Japan
Former boxing world champion Malcolm Tuñacao is now working as a garbage collector in Kobe, Japan.
In Chino Trinidad's report for "24 Oras," the 2000 WBC flyweight titleholder said that he doesn't mind doing a blue collar job.
"Importante 'yung trabaho ko, hindi ako nanglalamang ng tao," he said. "Marangal na trabaho sir ba."

It also helps that the Japanese have a high regard for the sanitary workers who keep the environment clean and free from waste.
"'Yung mga tao pag makita sa amin, mga basurero, masaya sila. Tapos ni-re-respeto kami, 'yun ang importante," Malcolm said.
Asked for his advice to people amid the coronavirus pandemic, the boxer who rose to the top of the world after living in a Cebu market encouraged everyone to keep going on and have faith.
"Importante sir buhay pa tayo, hindi tayo susuko," he said. "Hindi naman lahat tayo matalo lagi." —MGP, GMA News
