Pacquiao: We will be victorious on Saturday night

Boxing champ and Senator Manny Pacquiao displayed confidence he can win the fight against Adrien Broner set on Saturday.

"We will be victorious on Saturday night,” Pacquiao said during his interview on "Balitanghali."

He said that he would resume his preparation for the Broner fight on Tuesday until Saturday, but will only do light training.

“Maganda yung training natin, yung resulta. Maganda yung condition natin, physically, mentally, spiritually. I am prepared,” he said

On Sunday, instead of going to the gym, Pacquiao went to church at the Shepherd Church in Porter Ranch, California with his wife Jinkee and youngest child Israel.

As they went home, many fans and friends came to visit the boxing champ.

One of them was former Los Angeles Lakers player Ron Artest who is known as Metta World Peace.

“Manny loves basketball and obviously he’s a great boxer and a great person so a really great combination. I like to watch him train,” he said.

“I think it’s gonna be a really tough fight. Obviously Manny is still in shape and Broner has a lot to prove. And I just wish both of them the best of health,” he also said.

Bill Wennington, who was a teammate of Michael Jordan in the three-consecutive National Basketball Association champion team Chicago Bulls, said he would  definitely watch the Pacquiao fight.

“His name is so big name. Yes, there's a lot of excitement. And I think everyone is kind of looking at this as a prelude to the another Mayweather fight,” Wennington said.

Pacquiao received a set of Chicago Bulls training equipment from Wennington, who in turn asked for an autograph from Pacquiao.

On January 19, reigning WBA welterweight champion Pacquiao is scheduled to face Broner to defend his title in Las Vegas, Nevada. —Joviland Rita/ LDF, GMA News
