Mommy Dionisia on Pacquiao's loss: T*nga talaga ang referee

Dionisia Pacquiao on Tuesday expressed dismay over the result of her son Manny Pacquiao's recent bout, complaining that the referee failed to warn Australian boxer Jeff Horn of his infractions.

"Siyempre, parang nainis, nalungkot, kasi hindi ko masyado tingnan kasi ayoko ngang makita yung anak ko duguan na. Pero nakita ko talaga yung kalaban, si Horn, kita ko talaga na marumi maglaro," Mommy Dionisia said in an interview on Unang Balita.

"Hawakan niyang leeg sa anak ko, eh ipababa niya doon sa malapit na sa sahig na doon suntukin niya. Parang daya ba, hawakan niya sa braso, sa leeg ng anak ko," she added.

"Galit ako sa, nainis ako sa referee, t*nga, t*nga talaga ang referee. Bakit hindi niya inawat? Bakit hindi niya bilangan?"

Eight-division world champ Pacquiao, who is also an elected Senator, lost to Horn on Sunday, with the three judges scoring the fight 117-111, 115-113 and 115-113 in favor of the Australian before 51,000 fans at Suncorp Stadium.

He said that the results of the "Battle of Brisbane" has tainted the reputation of boxing as a sport.

Pacquiao complained that the referee should have deducted points from Horn for the headlocks and accidental headbutts.

"Lagi akong gina-grab sa ulo, sinasakal," Pacquiao said. "Malaki at saka dapat wina-warningan ng referee. Saka how many times ginagawa, inulit-ulit niya. Dapat may deductions."

"And then 'yung pag accidental headbutt. 'Pag accidental headbutt 'yung nangyari, dalawang beses, dapat may deduction 'yun eh. That's the professional rules," he continued.  "Hindi marunong 'yung referee."

The result of the game also caused dismay on social media among boxing and sporting greats.

Meanwhile, the Games and Amusements Board has asked the World Boxing Organization for a review of the Pacquiao-Horn match. —Marlly Rome C. Bondoc/ALG/KVD, GMA News
