Last American Idol winner to sing US anthem
The last winner of the American Idol will not only have a chance to be part of the legendary talent show’s roster of champions. He or she will also get to sing the Star-Spangled Banner or the national anthem of the United States on Saturday (Sunday in the Philippines) for the Manny Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley fight.
The announcement was made on Top Rank Boxing’s Twitter account on Wednesday.

American Idol Season 15's two-night finale of will be held on Wednesday and Thursday (US time).

Pacquiao, an eight division world champion, has yet to announce who will sing the Lupang Hinirang or the Philippine national anthem for the fight.
Gail Banawis, a Filipino-American singer, together with The Word Chorale,a chorus made up of Christian pastors, sung the Lupang Hinirang in Pacquiao's ill-fated fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. last year.
Among those who have sung the Lupang Hinirang in Pacquiao's previous fights against Bradley were: Jessica Sanchez (Pacquiao vs Bradley 2) and Kirby Asunto (Pacquiao vs Bradley 1).
American Idol is now down to its three finalists: 22-year-old call center representative La'Porsha Renae, 20-year-old vocal coach Dalton Rapattoni, and 25-year-old waiter Trent Harmon.
The winner will be have their final performances on Wednesday and Thursday (US time).
The 15th season of American Idol will be its curtain call.
The reality show has launched the career of music superstars like Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, Adam Lambert, and Fantasia Barino. — APG, GMA News
