LOOK: Mayweather wears Philippine-themed shirt to media day

Floyd Mayweather is far from being a favorite among Philippine boxing fans as he gears up for a showdown with Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao on May 2 in Las Vegas.

But that didn't prevent the unbeaten American fighter from wearing a Philippine-themed shirt from his media day event on Tuesday (Wednesday PHL time).

US-based Filipino boxing writer Dennis Guillermo posted the photo on his Facebook page.

In an earlier interview with GMA News, Mayweather had expressed respect and admiration for Filipino boxing fans.

"I love the Philippines. I love all the Philippine fans," Mayweather said.



"You guys have been remarkable, you guys have done a great job. You guys have stood behind Manny Pacquiao. Without the fans, we both wouldn't be where we at today." -- JST, GMA News
