(Updated 2:38pm) Saul "Canelo" Alvarez put behind his majority decision loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr. loss from last year by beating up on Alfredo Angulo, winning their non-title bout via TKO in the 10th round, Saturday (Sunday, PHL time) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Alvarez improves his record to 43-1-1, while Angulo slumps to 22-4.
Referee Tony Weeks ended the fight at the 0:47 mark of the 10th round, after Canelo landed a left uppercut on Angulo.
Weeks' decision drew loud boos from the crowd.
"The ref stopped the fight," Alvarez said. "I could have fought another 10 rounds. It is not my fault."
Angulo was angry the ref ended the fight when he did.
"It was 20 weeks of training, it is disappointing. I wanted to keep fighting," he said. - with a report from AFP / AMD, GMA News
