PBA: Rondae Hollis-Jefferson intends to run it back with TNT next season

PBA: TNT's Rondae Hollis-Jefferson in the PBA Finals

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson knows just what it took for him and the rest of TNT to win three titles in a just two-year span.

Banged-up and all, he's planning to do it all over again with the franchise.

But first, the three-time Best Import is looking to get back in shape following a grueling seven-game finals series against Barangay Ginebra in the PBA Season 49 Commissioner's Cup.

Hollis-Jefferson has been suffering from a hamstring injury even before the championship series. He then hurt his abdomen following a hard hit on the LED board while going for a loose ball in Game 6 against the Gin Kings.

After hoisting his third title in Game 7, Hollis-Jefferson revealed there won't be much celebration for him as he is immediately flying back to the States to get himself checked.

"I’m banged up, but you know, I’m sure they’re banged up as well. I said to myself I won’t make any excuses, I just tried my best," he shared.

"I’m going to rest. I’m going home to play with my kids and pick them up for school and coach them in soccer. I will see you guys again soon. I’ll get it checked to just make sure everything’s good and then I’ll get checked again when I get back home. I’ll take care of my body."

But while he'll be far away for a while, the lefty sharpshooter will remain cheering for TNT, which will be gunning for a grand slam feat in the upcoming Philippine Cup.

And he believes that his teammates can get the job done.

"I believe my guys, I believe that their energy and the aura that I’ve come in with and I continue to give to them will lead them to the All-Filipino (championship)," he said.

"Everyone’s healthy, everyone’s working hard. Sky’s the limit."
