Justin Brownlee received notice of 'adverse analytical finding', says SBP

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) announced that Justin Brownlee had received notice of an 'adverse analytical finding'.
The basketball body added that the 36-year-old Brownlee, a Gilas Pilipinas naturalized player and Barangay Ginebra's resident import in the PBA, is currently handling the matter with the help of his lawyers.
The SBP, however, clarified that FIBA has yet to rule on the matter.
An adverse analytical finding is a term that is related to sports' doping regulations. According to the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Code, it is defined as "a report from a WADA-accredited laboratory or other WADA-approved laboratory that, consistent with the International Standard for Laboratories, establishes in a Sample the presence of a Prohibited Substance or its Metabolites or Markers or evidence of the Use of a Prohibited Method."
"The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) is aware that Gilas Pilipinas player Justin Brownlee has received notice of an adverse analytical finding," SBP said in a short post on social media on Monday.
"Brownlee is currently dealing with the situation aided by his US-based lawyers."
It could be recalled that Brownlee previously failed a doping test shortly after the Gilas Pilipinas' run at the 2023 Asian Games, which saw the Philippines rule the tournament for the first time since 1962.
Back then, Brownlee tested positive for the banned Carboxy-THC, which is linked to cannabis use. It resulted in a three-month suspension.
