Brownlee 'doubtful, but not yet ruled out' for Game 4 of Ginebra vs TNT finals

Barangay Ginebra import Justin Brownlee's status for Game 4 of the PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals against TNT has yet to be determined hours before the match at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

"Justin is doubtful to play but he hasn't been completely ruled out yet," Ginebra head coach Tim Cone told GMA News Online in a message on Friday morning.

Brownlee sustained a dislocated thumb on his right hand after he fell while chasing the ball in the third quarter of Game 3 where the Tropang Giga took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven finals. Brownlee was not able to finish the match as he was brought to the hospital.

On Wednesday, assistant coach Richard del Rosario said the team is hoping for the best for Brownlee.

"We're still hoping that he can play. Warrior naman si Justin. Basta kaya niya, kung konting sakit lang, maglalaro 'yan. So we're just waiting and hoping we'll get good news," Del Rosario previously said.

RJ Abarrientos, meanwhile, said they will still face TNT should Brownlee remain out for Game 4 at least.

"Kailangan naming harapin 'to, we're still in the finals kahit locals kami na matitira rito against a team like TNT. Wala talaga, kailangan namin ito tapusin kung anong puwede maging adjustment or hopefully, sana makabalik siya," Abarrientos said.
