Sabrina Ionescu makes it rain from four-point range in Big Dome showcase
Safe to say, Sabrina Ionescu enjoyed draining buckets from way, way downtown after making it rain during the Craft The Future showcase in front of a loud Smart Araneta Coliseum crowd on Tuesday.
The WNBA star played the first half under Team Laban led by team captain Paul Lee together with Jhazmine Joson, Japeth Aguilar, Dave Ildefonso, Harold Alarcon, Louna Ozar, Afril Bernardino, and Chris Newsome among others.
Wearing the black shirt, Ionescu made the first two baskets before knocking down a four-point shot to give Team Laban a 10-4 lead. Another triple from her tied things up at 20-all, before Team Puso broke the deadlock by unleashing a 29-17 closing run for a 49-37 halftime lead.
Ionescu then suited up for Team Puso in the second half, joining skipper LA Tenorio, Kacey Dela Rosa, Kaye Pesquera, Rhenz Abando, Kai Oani, Kieffer Alas, Marcio Lassiter, Allana Lim, and CJ Perez.
The New York Liberty star then buried back-to-back four-pointers to give Team Puso a 65-41 cushion. Team Laban tried to mount a rally but Pesquera issued the dagger after shooting a long bomb off an Ionescu dish to make it a 79-65 lead.
Ionescu finished with 23 points.
Earlier, Ateneo de Manila University's Triple Bs fended off Team Honor for a 53-48 win in the Show Her Love Finals with two-time UAAP MVP Dela Rosa bagging the MVP honors.
The Blue Eagles standout poured in 19 points.
