Rain or Shine's Yeng Guiao laments officiating in Game 4 semis loss vs TNT

Rain or Shine head coach Yeng Guiao lamented the officiating of referees in their Game 4 loss against TNT in the PBA Commissioner's Cup semifinals.

TNT took the series lead, 3-1, after the Tropang Giga's 93-85 win in the best-of-seven series.

"It was a bad shooting night for us, for our locals. Of course, si Deon [Thompson] maganda ang nilaro, naka-44 points siya," Guiao admitted.

"Just too bad it came when 'yung locals namin, malamig. Pero I think na kahit malamig ang locals namin, we were able to keep the game close."

Guiao, however, cited several instances where calls -- which he thought should be for them -- went into TNT's favor.

"There was a situation na sa tingin ko could have changed the momentum of the game. The results could have been affected. Hinila ni [RR] Pogoy si [Gian] Mamu[yac]. Binigyan pa sila ng three points, eh. Hinila, tapos dapat 'yon free throws namin, naging three points sa kabila. It's a five-point swing at a crucial point of the game," Guiao said.

"Hindi lang 'yon, I think may travelling si Nambatac when he caught the ball and turned on the floor. That's a travelling, they missed that. Converted din yun sa kabila."

"Earlier, si Andrei [Caracut], na-foul early in the game. Converted din pero hindi tinawag."

Guiao said those calls alone cost them almost ten points which could have shaped the game differently.

"So if you combine all those points that were bad calls and went against us, that's almost 10 points lost, dun lang sa bad calls. Kahit na malamig 'yung locals namin, kung nakuha lang namin 'yung mga dapat na tawag para sa amin, we would probably still have a chance to win the game," said the Rain or Shine tactician.

"The referees messed it up for us. And, it's such a crucial game, kasi sa tingin ko, you win this, you change the whole momentum of the series -- for us."

Guiao, however, said they will still find ways as they still have a chance to extend the series in Game 5 on Friday.

"Hindi pa tapos 'to, definitely hindi pa tapos 'to."
