Alex Cabagnot leaves Converge, joins UE coaching staff
Alex Cabagnot has parted ways with Converge as he looks to bring his act back to the sidelines as part of the revamped coaching staff of University of the East in the UAAP.
The FiberXers announced Cabagnot's exit from the team on Monday, but the veteran guard clarified that he has yet to retire from the game.
"Not retired yet. I'd like to own that narrative," Cabagnot wrote in his post on X (formerly Twitter).
Not retired yet. Id like to own that narrative.

Cabagnot had a brief stint with Converge after joining the youthful club in August 2024, providing the veteran presence to a young roster led by Justin Arana, Alec Stockton, and Schonny Winston.
Before that, the 42-year-old backcourt veteran saw action with Korean club Goyang Sono and Taiwan Mustangs in Taipei.
In UE, he will join newly-minted head coach Chris Gavina and fellow former PBA star KG Canaleta in leading the Red Warriors back to prominence.
