Gilas Pilipinas names AJ Edu, Jamie Malonzo in lineup vs Chinese Taipei for FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers

Gilas Pilipinas included AJ Edu and Jamie Malonzo in its lineup against Chinese Taipei in the February window of the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers which will commence on Thursday.

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas revealed the 12-man lineup on Wednesday.

Edu will make his Asia Cup Qualifiers debut after missing the first two windows due to injury, while Malonzo will return after missing the November window, also due to injury.

Kai Sotto, meanwhile, will miss the third window and the FIBA Asia Cup proper as he sustained an ACL injury in Japan early this year.

Previously, Gilas defeated Chinese Taipei, 106-53, in February last year. After Thursday's game, the Philippines will fly to New Zealand for their match on Sunday morning.

The Philippines is already assured of a spot in the FIBA Asia Cup which will be held in Saudi Arabia this August.
