PBA: Blackwater's Rey Suerte headed to Converge in one-on-one trade for BJ Andrade

PBA: Rey Suerte and BJ Andrade

Rey Suerte is bidding Blackwater goodbye after nearly six years as the veteran guard was traded to Converge in exchange for BJ Andrade.

The one-on-one trade has been approved by the league.

Suerte, a special Gilas Pilipinas Draft pick in 2019 by the Bossing, will join a stacked FiberXers backcourt that also features the likes of Jordan Heading, Alec Stockton, Deschon Winston, Alex Cabagnot, and Mike Nieto.

The former UE standout is tipped to provide Converge a much-needed boost after the franchise continued its struggle of making it past the quarterfinals, the latest of which was a 1-2 QF loss to Rain or Shine in the Season 49 Commissioner's Cup.

Andrade, meanwhile, joins a youthful Blackwater side that has been struggling the past years. The Ateneo product will get to play under head coach Jeffrey Cariaso and several key players in Sedrick Barefield, Jvee Casio, Jaydee Tungcab, and James Kwekuteye.
